EXPERTS IN HEARING AND BALANCE CARE

Committed.
Experienced.
Results.

At Hearing & Balance, we believe that everyone deserves to hear the rich sounds of life. That is why we take a holistic approach to identify the hearing solution, treatment, and management plan that’s right for you, your lifestyle and your budget. Offering continuity of care and building a long-term hearing health partnership with all our clients is important to us.

We are people-people, and from the moment you step into our clinic in Greenmeadows we aim to make you feel right at home. We put you, our client, at the heart of what we do. Tash, our Practice Manager, or Steph, our receptionist, will give you a warm welcome, help you check in and fill out the paperwork. Then either Carly or Dion, our fully qualified and experienced Audiologists, will whisk you off into our specially designed assessment rooms. Here they conduct a thorough assessment of your hearing using the latest evidence-based equipment and procedures, but more importantly, they take the time to listen and find out more about how your symptoms are impacting your enjoyment of life. Understanding your needs enables them to customise a solution for your hearing loss or other hearing related problems, such as Tinnitus, Auditory Processing Disorders, or balance disorders.

Locally Owned & Independent

We are proudly, locally owned and independent. This means we have no affiliation with any one hearing aid manufacturer. Unlike some other Audiology services, we are able to have access to a full range of the world’s leading hearing aid brands and will explain the features and benefits of each option to find the one that’s right for your hearing issues, funding status and budget.

Hearing is one of the most important senses we have and being able to hear well is essential for living a healthy, happy, and connected life. In NZ hearing loss is the third most prevalent health issue facing older adults. However, only 20% of people who might benefit from treatment seek help. There are many reasons for this. Some don’t notice their hearing loss as it can sneak up slowly, or they have found ways to make-do with poor hearing by limiting what they do. Others who have hearing loss don’t want hearing aids as they worry about the appearance, some worry about the cost.

We say it doesn’t have to be this way

No matter what your hearing problem is we can help, as we offer a full range of audiology services to support you on a path to improved hearing.

our values

Our values were developed based on the core belief that everyone deserves to hear well so they can live a healthy, happy, and connected life

We take a holistic approach to hearing health

We use our expertise and experience to find the best solution for our clients. Our joint decisions are based on the individuals themselves, the activities that are important to them and their social and environmental circumstances.

We take the time to listen to our clients

We believe in the importance of each individual feeling supported as they embark on their journey to improved hearing. We realise that for many clients, finding out they have issues with their hearing can be daunting, working through the solutions can be confusing and adjusting to hearing aids can be challenging. Our job is to make this journey as easy as possible for each person.

We support hearing health in our Community

We believe everyone deserves to hear well, which is why we run our clinic in Wairoa and enjoy sharing our expertise with relevant community groups, workplaces, and other health professionals. We are active members of the New Zealand Audiological Society, taking on roles examining new graduates and developing best practice guidelines.

We care, and treat everyone with respect

We appreciate that for some people, interacting with health professionals can be intimidating. This is why we focus on making everyone feel supported and welcome whenever they meet with our team, from the moment they walk through our door.
